The project “User Guided Semantic Content Enrichment” developed methods and algorithms that have been studied and implemented in a software tool, called “loomp”, to semantically enrich and enhance given textual information in such a way that the data were available for structured re-use in new contexts. For example, documents available in Wikipedia were enhanced with a semantic mark-up to allow their usage in a mobile tourist information system. Blocks of text need to be identified within the documents so that they can be presented to the mobile users according their interests: e.g., texts details about the architecture, history, or landscape features of the Waikato or Berlin depending on the user's current location.
